The Sayebaan Project works with schools and industries to mobilise their staff and students to take ownership over their natural environment by planting trees and caring for them. We provide a tailored programme for each institution that we work with, providing them with architectural and ecological planning, procurement of appropriate and cost effective plants, and liaison with organisations such as KMC and DHA to secure permissions for plantation. Moreover, we provide an online map based database to log all trees planted and check their progress using periodic pictures.
The Directors of the Sayebaan Project founded the Lignum Afforestation Project at the Karachi Grammar School which is a vibrant community formed around afforestation. After planting several dozen trees in the school campus students adopted Family Park, a KMC park near the campus and made a small specialised urban forest. We enabled students to lead every stage of the process from procurement to plantation and maintenance.
The Sayebaan Project partnered with Prestige Kitchens, a furniture manufacturer company to plant trees near their industrial facilities in Port Qasim. Sayebaan enabled them to conduct a staff-led plantation and trained them to take ownership over their area and maintain their plant life. Sayebaan also provided them with environmental consultation enabling them to secure an ISO 140001 certification.
